how do i share a google doc with someone?

With the proliferation of cloud computing and digital media, Google Docs has become one of the most popular digital document management solutions. It allows teams, businesses, and even individuals to create and collaborate on documents remotely. With it, you can easily share a document with other people as long as they have access to the internet.

To start sharing a Google Doc with someone, first you will need to open the document that you want to share. Next, click on the 'Share' button at the top right of your window. This will open up a separate window where you can input the person's email address or phone number who you want to share it with. Once that information is entered, click on 'Send' and they will immediately receive an email or text notification that contains a link that they can click on which will direct them to the shared Google Doc.

For those looking for more granular control over who is able to view or edit their document, they can also set viewing permissions using the 'Get link' option in the 'Share' window. With this option, documents owners are able to set restrictions such as whether someone is allowed to view or edit/comment on their document and if so whether this is visible to everyone invited or just specific people. Additionally, document owners may also prevent others from downloading their documents by selecting 'Prevent viewers from downloading' under 'Advanced Options' in the same window.
